Happy May! Have your May flowers arrived yet? I love all things spring, including all the colorful spring flowers and homemade bouquets by kid’s make for me. In honor of spring we made some marshmallow fondant, painted fondant flowers, and assembled May Flower Pudding Snack Packs that are super cute and tasty! Kids will love painting their food, then eating it. This was certainly an artistic treat!

It’s always a fun adventure going shopping with the kids. I love it when we have a small list for activities like this one. We make our shopping trip a treasure hunt in the store to see who can spot our items first. Apparently on the day we went to Walmart everyone wanted Snack Packs, I was surprised to find the shelf in the Baking Goods isle half empty.  Thank goodness it was a big shelf, so we still were able to load up our cart.

One supply we didn’t buy at the store was the new Snack Pack Pudding Bars that were mailed to us to tryout. Once they reach your shelves you are going to want to try them because they are good and saved the day for our May Flowers activity. They tasted rich and moist like a super condensed cake and full of  yummy chocolaty goodness. Definitely a one of a kind treat that. If you can’t find the bars at your local Walmart you can still make our May Flowers Pudding Snack Packs by using a dense brownie. That just means you get to make our pudding cups again when they hit the shelves near you.

If you don’t want to make your own fondant, you can always buy some from the store. Also, you can mix in a few drops of food coloring into the fondant instead of painting them if you don’t have time to wait for the paint to dry.
Ingredients & Supplies:
Small paint brush
Pretzels
Peanut Butter (We used our favorite peanut butter, Honey Roast Peter Pan Peanut Butter).
Directions:

1.  Sprinkle powdered sugar on your work area. Roll out marshmallow fondant and use cookie cutter to cut out flowers.

2.  Paint flowers and set the flowers out to dry. Make sure not to use too much paint, or the flowers will get soggy.
3.  Once the flowers are dry, use the small paint brush to carefully brush a little water on the back of each flower to remove any loose powdered sugar. Dip the pretzel in the peanut butter and stick it to the flower. We found the more peanut butter the better.

Ingredients & Supplies:
Snack Pack Pudding Bars (or brownie if unavailable)

Marshmallow Fondant Flowers
Suggested Mix Ins (Optional):
Reddi Whip
Crushed Cookies
Coconut
Chocolate Chips
Nuts
Directions:
1.  Sprinkle the pudding with desired mix ins and stir them in.

2.  Cut the Snack Pack Pudding Bars in half. Carefully stick the marshmallow fondant flowers into the pudding bar. We placed 3 flowers in each bar. Place the bar on top of the pudding cup and enjoy! Make sure to eat right away because peanut butter is not glue, and the flowers may start to detach. It’s so yummy, you wont want to wait anyways. 🙂

  1. These are so adorable! My kids love painting AND they love Snack Pack–so this really would be the best of both worlds–we're going to have to try it! #client
