Kids can make pretty pumpkin and leaf ornaments that fill your home with the warm fragrant smells of autumn. This is a perfect fall craft to make with the kids. If your kids like baking cookies they will enjoy this craft because they are simple to make and turn out beautiful! Have you ever made cinnamon ornaments for Christmas? If you haven’t made them before, you need to give this craft a try because they look beautiful and smell so delicious! One of my favorite parts about this craft is that they will last through the years and since they are made by my kids that makes them extra special! Mix all the ingredients together to make dough. You may need to remind kids that this activity is not for eating because it smells so good!

Use the rolling pin to roll out the dough. If it is a bit sticky put some extra cinnamon on your surfaces (rolling pin and counter) so it doesn’t stick.

Use the cookie cutter to make ornament shapes. My kids love making cookies, so this craft was familiar and fun for them to make. If you plan on hanging them up use the straw to poke a hole in the top. Make sure it is big enough because it will shrink a little when baked.

Bake at 200 degrees F. for 2-2/1.5 hours.

Once they are cool to touch, let kids paint them with acrylic paint and glitter glue.

Once the ornaments are dry, put a piece of ribbon, thread it through the hole, and tie it together so it can be hung up. Aren’t they gorgeous!?!
