So we have been experimenting with Easter eggs again. I figured out how to marble eggs and still be able to peel and eat them after the Easter egg hunt is over. I work hard buying our groceries at a good price that I hate wasting any food. The thought of putting shaving cream on my eggs (like some marbled egg directions call for) made me cringe.
This time we get a bit messy. I had to keep reminding myself everything is washable, including Ms. Tiger. 🙂 She loved swirling the colors in her bowl and pulling her egg out. She was overjoyed that I was letting her dig in, and get her hands dirty.
Note: If you are going to be eating your eggs make sure to keep them at a safe eating temperature in the fridge.
Supplies:
1 C Heavy whipping cream whipped until fluffy (I am guessing a cup of pre-made whipped cream would work too)
Eggs
Small shallow bowls or cups that eggs will fit in
Food coloring
Directions:
1.  Spoon approximately two tablespoons of whipped cream into bowl
2.  Add food coloring to the bowl and swirl. We used liquid food coloring and gel food coloring. I think the gel colors worked better.
Make sure not to over swirl. We counted 3 stirs and then stopped.
After you use a bowl a few times the colors get muddy, so wash hands and start a new bowl. This is a great time to try new color combinations!
3. Dip egg into the whipping cream so it gets good and covered.
Messy hands for a pretty egg.
4. Set egg on a tray to dry. We let ours dry overnight.
5.  Wash whipping cream off egg with hot water and your done.
